Tadka Dal is North Indian delicacy served with Rice and Roti, Naan bread. Tadka means tempering. It is a process of seasoning Cooked Dal (Lentils). Butter or Ghee, first heated and then flavored with spices like cumin, coriander, Turmeric, Asafoetida etc. It can make more flavorful with Onion and Garlic. This flavorful seasoning is then poured over cooked Dal. This dish is very easy to make and very delicious too !!
