Sambar Recipe by Vah Chef

Sambar or Sambhar is a typical South Indian stew usually served with rice, idli, dosa, Medu Vada. It is made of Toovar Dal (Pigeon peas), various vegetables, Tamarind pulp and Sambhar Powder. Sambhar Powder is what makes sambhar so flavourful. Many of Indian Spices and roasted Dals are used to make this uniquely aromatic sambhar spice blend. Sambar spice blend can be made from scratch or it can be bought from Indian grocery stores.
This recipe video shows you how to make Sambar from scratch which gives fresh flavor to the Sambar.
